Burning Video DVD's

Date: Dec 06    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 469

I'm having a problem in burning video DVD's under Ubuntu 9.04
(64-bit). I've tried Brasero and even downloaded a demo copy of Nero
Linux 3, but all I get are error messages that lack any information
("cannot do this with current plugins", kind of thing). Any ideas?

Off the top of my head:

Ubuntu 9.04 (64-bit)
DVD-Writer - Sony/Optiarc (forget the model number)

The video I'm trying to write right now is, I think, an XviD avi

If you need any other information, please let me know - I'll see what
I can find out when I get home from work.

I use K3b. I went into synaptic and typed in K3b and installed the files that
came up. It just works

Do you have a program to convert the Xvid to DVD format? The only time I burned
a working DVD was after I downloaded an ISO.

Many DVD players will play the Xvid if you just burn as a data file.

ManDVD in the repositories will do the trick.

The one I currently use is DeVeDe. Not tooo many option, but does a good
