Error playing DVD

Date: Dec 07    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 399

I sent my new Sony DVD+RW in for an exchange and I just received the new
one back. I installed a dvd and after getting the audio working - I
thought things were fine. Now Im getting this error repeatedly popping up:

Unable to eject CD-RW/DVD+RW Drive
DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.Failed: An operation is
already pending.

and

DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReplay: Did not receive a reply.
Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply,
the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout
expired, or the network connection was broken.

During these message the dvd is still playing and doens't seem to
interfere with its operation - other than you just cant see the screen
without moving all the little error boxes.

Guess you will already have checked your connections and that the master
slave jumpers are correctly placed so it could be that you need to get a
Linux driver for it perhaps.

Im using SATA drives throughout.. no numbers.

Actually - I was wondering about this.

Im using 9.04 now. I moved from 8.04. When I installed 9.04 I linked to
my original /home drive. I have noticed some little problems like - on
Terminal - its not transparent like on my default 9.04 install - its
transparent all the way through to the desktop instead of the window
beneath. Little things like that. But I was wondering if perhaps I
brought over something else, dont know what as this is really outside
anything I know anything about, but some file setting or drive setting
in /home that is causing this problem.
