I am new to Linux. I have used Ubuntu jaunty now for the last few months andreally like it. The problem I am having is i installed a new DVD player/recorder(lightscribe brand) and I can not get it to play a DVD. The error that comes upis "Could not read from resource" Can anyone tell me how to fix this? THANKS.
Will it play any CD's or DVD's? Could be a defective disc. Have you tried iton a "known good" player?
I have a similar issue. I just got an ubuntu dell netbook (andabsolutely love it). It won't play netflix videos. I suspect its eithercodecs or drm. Puppy linux won't play them either, but slax works great.Just insert the dvd and the movie starts.
It turns out I didn't have the correct codec library installed. Now I can playeverything except Disney movies. Anyone have any ideas how to fix that?
install and try "vlc".........................
