trying to play DVDs

Date: Nov 29    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 487

I'm too hot to figure this out by myself. I can't play DVDs in Ubuntu 10.04, but
they run just fine when I use my Puppy Linux live CD to do it on the same
computer. I'm using GXine 0.5.904 that I installed from the repositories, in
Ubuntu, GXine 0.5.9 which came in Puppy. I can usually play video downloads Ok.
I also tried VLC and some other players without success in Ubuntu with DVD
movies. Any suggestions? I would like to be able to move the Puppy GXine to
Linux, but failed on that.
