I am slowly trying to get away from Windows and more into Ubuntu and right now I
am looking for a writing progam for childrens stories. I have 7 granddaughters
and 2 grandson's and for their birthdays I want to write a story for them as the
main character, and of course each story different(they do all talk to each
other). I know there are some for software for windows but perfer doing this
with Ubuntu.

I already have OpenOffice, but looking for one that has some idea's.
Any help would be welcomed.

Maybe if you could share with us what kind of ideas your looking for
it might help us all understand what it is your looking for from some
piece of software. There likely is some kind of software that would
be able to accommodate the task that you are trying to implement.

Have you looked at Scribus? It is a DTP programme.

I was going to suggest Scribus too but I wasn't sure if desktop publishing
was exactly what he was looking for. I have Scribus installed and have only
tinkered with it but it doesn't look like it's too difficult to use.
