I used Tax act that is on line and works great with Fire Fox. I would check to
see if there is an on line version.

Is your Turbo Tax a version for Windows? if so it might run under the Wine
Windows Emulator, or Crossover Linux, but there is no guarantee. Wine is in
the Ubuntu repository, but Crossover must be purchased from
http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxlinux/. It's $39.95 for the standard
edition and $69.95 for the pro edition. There is also a free 30 day trial
edition available there. If it works on your Windows software it should be
enough to get your taxes done anyway!

Do you have wine installed?
If you had wine installed Turbo Tax should work in that.

I'm using the online version, not wine or crossover. To me it sounded weird
because its online. I thought stuff that is online was universal.

I suggest people look at and change the Subject line before they send
because this one and several say its about Tax Software

Are they all about that???

It may use ActiveX which comes only with Windows. That is just poor programming
as there are other options. You may have to run it from a Windows machine, as
much as it pains me to say so.

I hope it is OK to post a link. I've used TaxACT in the past. It doesn't
mention Linux, but does support Firefox, Opera, and Java. Federal and State
can be done online. Federal is free with E-File.
