I'm attempting to use an old P2 box as a firewall/gateway for my homenetwork. In the Shorewall setup guide they said to add a 3rd NIC forattaching your wireless AP. Why go this route instead of connectingthe AP to your hub/switch?
So you can write rules to limit access to your internal network fromwireless subnet. Attaching a wireless AP to the same subnet is asking fromtrouble.
Thanks, I thought security was the main reason but I did not know ifthere were others. This was the first "how to" that suggested addingyour wireless connection that way.
