So you are looking for a good book  on Java, as you are beginner  of Java
first start with 'Beginning Java 2 J2SE 1.4' - By "Ivor Horton", when you
have some hands on Java then only start Sun Press 'Core Java 2 Vol-1 &
vol-2' - By " Horstmann, Cprmell". By this you don't need to know anything
about the Java's good book in the market, trust me these are enough. And if
you then need to go for SCJP Exam then there are several books  available in
market. But for now go with first one.
