Try to get a hold on The UML User Guide by Grady
Booch, James Rumbaugh, and Ivar Jacobson. Modeling
also covers Design Pattern. The book  maybe pricies,
but worth every penny.

Also if you are realy keen on learning some light weight design  ideas,
look at the concept of CRC Cards, and agile design.
