I have installed the latest Ubuntu 64-Bit AMD Desktop on my laptop (HP Pavilion
w/dual core 2.1 GHz Turion, 3G RAM, and 60G Ubuntu partition). It replaced
Natty Kubuntu 64-bit.

Natty Kubuntu wasn't a speed demon, but it was acceptable. Oneric Ubuntu,
however, seems noticeably slower. I don't know if this is a difference between
Unity and KDE. I was running Natty Ubuntu for a short while before switching to
Kubuntu. I was so distracted by the UI that I don't recall whether Unity was
that much slower than KDE on that release.

Opinions?
