Can anyone tell me if Dual Core's are 64 bit and if so, has anyonehad good success running 64 bit Ubuntu on a dual core machine?
Yes, Dual Core is 64 bit, but there doesn't seem to be much of anadvantage, since most 64 bit SW is actually 32 bit...True 64 bit applications won't run on a 32 bit machine, which is in themajority...
At this point you are better off running a 32 bit kernel instead of the 64.Still some bugs. It will be the same for windows o/s. Yet, the 64 windows kernelis worse than the linux.
