Repartition disk and install 32bit over old 64bit?

Date: Dec 09    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 481

I have the latest 9.04 Desktop Edition Ubuntu CDs. On the first menu presented,
it offers "run from disk", "test memory", "INSTALL", etc. What happens when you
select "install"?

Are you offered a chance to repartition your hard drive after selecting
"install"? I need to add more disk space to my linux partitions.

How do you install a 32bit version over a prior 64bit--without losing your old
files?

First you back up your files to DVD/CD/external hard drive.

You should assume that the installation will wipe your hard drive.

And yes, during installation you have a chance to repartition your hard drive.
