I downloaded and burnt to a cd Kubuntu 11.10,I am currently trying to install it
but it is taking an overly long time for the programme to open from the Kubuntu
Blue splash screen.Does this mean that there is a problem with the iso or is it
my PC?I didn't have this problem with Kubuntu 11.04 32 bit..any help appreciated

You can also try pressing ESC as soon as the graphic appears and you will
see the text that makes up the loading process. You may see a message, such
as kernel panic, etc.

You can try burning at a lower speed with the same ISO or you may have to
download a new ISO if it does not work.

It is not likely your PC.

You will eventually get a Window that says Install Kubuntu or Try Kubuntu.
If you know that you are installing then you can go ahead, but you may want
to make sure it works on your hardware before installing.

I recently loaded Kbu a few weeks ago.... I recall it didn't work for me from
the live CD. I just downloaded an install copy and installed from there. that
worked fine. and didn't take that long.

I gave up trying to install from the live cd,but have successfully managed
to upgrade 11.04 to 11.10,though it took a long time, but appears to be
running seemlessly..
