finally got my monitors to behave.
launcher now hides until I want it by going to:
system settings
appearance
behaviour and turn ON the auto-hide launcher

If you restore default behaviours this will turn off the launcher.

now to load up some software already loaded essentials which took ages 4.15 am
time for some sleep
