upgrade not going smoothly

Date: Dec 14    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 285

Well, good thing I did this on my spare laptop as this isnt going great.

This happened during the upgrade:

COBRA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0

I have no sound so I went to sound properties and chose my card but I
get this error when I make the selection:

Sound:
audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample !
gconfaudiosink profile = music: Could not open audio device for playback.

Keyring is locked - cant access network manager.

I found in the forums where it said to delete the key ring - which I did
- but now it says I cant access my network setup to make changes as its
read only (???).

Im accessing the net on my laptop but right now Im baffled as to how. It
has a IP addr that is NOT from my network AND my wireless card isnt
accessible.
