Epicentric Foundation Server

I'm working on weblogic(Appserver),iplanet(Webserver) running on Solaris-8.

We have installed Epicentric Foundation Server on Weblogic.Since i'm new to Web Administration,i'm facing little difficult in basics things.Can anynone let me know What is this Epicentric is and Why it is used.Plz explain in simple words.
