Order of DNS servers

Date: Dec 19    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 434

I put in the OpenDNS server addr's in my network config but my ISP dns servers
come first. I deleted my ISP servers but they repopulate. There is no "Move Up"
or "Move Down" button that would allow me to give precedence of one server over
another. But is there a way to do that?

I just put in the OpenDNS servers again in the gui network admin and the did not
show up when I checked again. I followed the info at this link and it seemed to
work fine.

This morning someone was asking me about opendns so I told them what Allen told
me yesterday and the entries I put in are now gone. So I did some searching and
found a post about /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf and putting this: prepend
domain-name-servers 208.67.222.222,208.67.220.220; at the end, which I did
but, it still did not take effect.
