I read somewhere [think it was on this group] that ubuntu had anexcellent rating for its server edition when compared with otherdistros. I've searched for it and can't find it - does anyoneremember? It was probably a link to one of the mags.
The story was probably in relation to Sun Microsystems which has certifiedUbuntu for server use on their hardware.http://www.ubuntu.com/partners/sunhttp://www.ubuntu.com/news/ubuntu-8.04-lts-serverwww.thevarguy.com/.../suns-small-business-server-push-includes-ubu\ntu-linux/www.thevarguy.com/.../http://www.linuxinsider.com/story/62441.htmlI hope these do the trick.
Many thanks for these links - they were interesting to read but theyaren't the article i saw.It was a comparison between distro server security and ubuntu wastops. It was the detail i wanted to read again.
Was it this story:dvlabs.tippingpoint.com/.../pwn-to-own-final-day-and-wrap-up
sorry but it wasn't this either. All i canremember was that it was a comparison of various distros - ubuntu wasfirst, and it was interesting to note where certain other top distroswere... some of the commercial ones were towards the bottom!
