Disappearing Software

Date: Feb 04    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 497

My update ( full installation) to Kubuntu 11.04 has been
relatively trouble free. One thing I appear to have lost is
easy access to packages downloaded from other repositories.

I am fairly sure that early versions of KDE provided a utility
for transferring linking non-K packages into the menu system. A
couple of recent downloads from the Synaptic Package system has
had me searching through through folders looking for them. Any
suggestions?

I'm afraid that you'll have to let us know what packages. It depends on many
things whether it is GTK, GNOME, KDE or CLI, etc.
