You have a share section right:
[sharename]
under this you have a share:

path = /sharename WATCH YOUR SPACES (space on either side of =
guest ok = yes
WATCH YOUR SPACES

MAKE SURE YOUR SHARENAME HAS OTHER PERMISSION SET TO RWX.

I have done this a lot and it is always some little item that goops it up.
