Did you try this cable on a machine that is working, to check if the problems
moves with the cable?

Did you make the cable yourself or buy it?

Is it a straight thru or crossover, some new nics don't care, but some of the
older ones do, just as most router don't care and will adapt.

I have a couple of runs that are close to 100 ft long and run without
problems.
