Adding a Win2K machine to a Samba 2.2.1a domain

Date: Nov 24    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 519

I can't seem to get Windows 2000 to join my domain. When it asks for the password and username to join the domain, which username and password do I type and what options does that username need?

When a computer is trying to join a domain ( ala Windows) you need to
be a sysadmin to do so. I presume that you will need to supply the
username/passwd of the sysadmin of the samba svr to do so. I'm only
guessing.

This would prevent anybody with a computer from joining your domain
without permission.
