upgrade problem

Date: Dec 27    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 281

Just upgraded to 8.04 and, so far, I'm very happy - except for one minor
piece of weirdness.

I have several symlinks set up in a folder within my home folder (done
so that I could group some frequently used folders, files and programs
into one, more convenient location) but now, when I double click on any
of them in Nautilus, I get an error dialog saying

Couldn't display "<link target>"
There is no application installed for this file type

and when I go into the link's properties, everything is marked as
'unknown' an I get an error saying that the permissions could not be
determined.

Other than recreating all these symlinks, is there any way I can get
them to work properly again?
