Stay with 10.04 and do not upgrade until at least next April when the next
LTS comes out. Even then you can wait 3 more years on the server edition.
You need stability and not the latest for servers (unless you like to
upgrade and risk data or have reasons to upgrade). Once you break the LTS
cycle you are on the six month treadmill.

I won't upgrade and keep with the LTS.

Keep us updated as to how it goes. I would like a step by step tutorial,
you might keep notes to share.

that is actually what I am doing taking notes on how to set up the
server step by step. Actually right now I've set up the server on an old laptop
and once I get the step down pat, then I will set it up on the real server.

not sure if you know about Full Circle magazine. They had an
artical on putting together an Ubuntu server. Here's a link to the back
