I am writing this for the Beta 8.4. From the downloaded ISO, burnt toCD then loaded via wapi on the CD into my XP Windows and so far itseems to perform well as an integral dual boot system.
I had no problems downloading 8.4 or with the loading into Windows XP.As soon as I opened it the red update sign was there and Synapticdownloaded 103 updates. I downloaded Thunderbird and set it up and hereI am sending with Hardy Heron. What is difficult I have to ask.
I was able to run updates fine atfirst, however when the system wanted to toa distribution upgrade it failed. I installed the beta about a month ago.
some times that is caused by the update server, not by 8.4 or Synpatic.
It is release date and would be best to wait a week or so tillyou do a upgrade. The servers and mirrors and going to bogged down. I wasthinking of upgrading today and held off because the servers just being boggeddown.
