Ubuntu 8.4 Hardy Heron

I had no problems downloading 8.4 or with the loading into Windows XP.
As soon as I opened it the red update sign was there and Synaptic
downloaded 103 updates. I downloaded Thunderbird and set it up and here
I am sending with Hardy Heron. What is difficult I have to ask.
