I have been watching thi discusion on hardy slow booting. Dont knowthe answer,but I have the same problem.I did a launchpad question andfound a link to a bug report. It offers a couple of work arounds thatmight help.
Getting the system to boot up faster can be done. However, it is not foe thenewbe. You need to know what actions to not boot up and it may kill your Kernel.I am not at your PC and do not know what it is doing.
