installation

Having trouble installing ubutu. Received the disk and tried to
install. My computer locks up just after install screen comes up???
Running xp now , have partition to install all is ready. Click install
and I get a blank screen and have to reboot.
Any ideas?

What are your system specs.
Make and model?
Type of vid card?
Amount of Ram,
Processor type? Like AMD or Intell
Is this a lap top or PC?
What version of Ubie do you have?
I think it is a video card issue above all. Once you can get the information.
