installation question

Date: Jan 02    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 291

i was trying to install ubuntu on this emachine, because the windoz that
came with it kind of sticks all the time and doesnt run well. anyway, when
i get to the INSTALL screen, i click on INSTALL. then pick out the
language, ENGLISH, but the resolution is too large and the CONTINUE button
is off the bottom of the screen. i can't get to it to continue with the
install. anyway around that?
i tried to adjust the resolution, but it only has that one size, apparently.
are these sleazy emachine people trying to prevent me from using linux? its
weird.

You can just hit the TAB key to get to the Next button.

Or you could press <alt> and left click to move the window about.

What version of Ubuntu are you trying to install....?

Version 6.06 LTS installs on all my machines with no bother, but as soon as I
try to install 7.10 onto my laptop, I get the same results as yourself.

It sounds to me as though Ubuntu does not recognise your video card.
