Acer Aspire 5570z wireless / multi card reader

I figured out that I can force the wifi to reset by enabling and then
disabling the driver. I don't know if that is good or not. Sometimes the
wireless won't find any networks even though there are networks available.
If I enable the driver and then disable it, the computer will search again
for available networks. It finds them and everything is fine. I tried this
after I ran the updates yesterday, but it didn't work.

The other thing is that I park a 16MB XD chip in the 5-in-1 card reader. I
leave it in there just to plug up the hole. I have several larger ones that
I use in the camera. Vista always wanted to open the card, and in fact, I
have a few files stored on it. I was curious why I couldn't mount it with
ubuntu. I did some reading on the net and some people got it to work and
others didn't. I figured out that the ones that worked were using SD cards,
and the ones that didn't work were using XD and Memory Sticks. I'm not sure
about MultiMediaCard (MMC) or Memory Stick Pro. I plugged an SD card in and
sure enough, it worked fine. I thought it was the improperly dismounted
thing like thumb drives, so I yanked the SD card without dismounting it and
then plugged it back in, but it remounted just fine.
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=378811) It looks like they are
still working on the XD module. I wonder what the difference is. I guess
I'll do some more reading.
