Changing hard drives

I believe I successfully copied the drive. I hit "e" when I rebooted
and changed hd1,0 to hd2,0 and booted just fine.

I'm going to remove the IDE drive. Will I need to edit the boot menu
or will hd2,0 become hd1,0 after disconnecting the old drive?
