How to mount samba share at boot?

Date: Dec 02    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 494

i am running Ubuntu 10.04 on a laptop. I have setup a local network
using Ubuntu 10.04 and samba. I can mount the various shared folders
from Nautilus and all works as it should. What i would like to do is
have the laptop mount a local shared folder on boot up. I have googled
this and tried different suggestions but none work. I have tried using
smbfs in fstab, this mounted okay at boot but Ubuntu crashed when i
tried to open the mounted drive.

I have tried cifs in fstab this caused the laptop to take forever to
shutdown due to the unmount order, i have tried the suggested fix that
did not work.
