I have been using ubuntu with all current updated for 8 months plus and
finally getting to like it vs xp but now I have messed it up and can
not get it to even open. I have tried to open with all 6 of the 7.10
updates loaded at the start screen. it will load the color Ubuntu logo
and go into the black sreen where it loads up all the functions and
stops there. I had modivied the screen resolution when it began to
rebel on me.
the black screen stops at *running local boot scripts (/etc/rc/.local)
Ok.
I have tried to insert the Ubuntu CD and reload the program like
microsoft and that did not work.
I can occasionally get to a black screen and it get to ~my name and ~$
(blank) I have entered everything I can think of to get past that
screen including my username password and more.
I am lost now.
