Terminal not working

Date: Dec 14    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 436

Since upgrading to 8.10 the terminal on my computer isn't working. I
press on the icon, the icon bounces around for a few seconds and then
disappears. No terminal opens. Even when writing "terminal" in the
command line I get the same result - nothing opens. Is there a way of
repairing this? Obviously the solution cannot be a command one (unless
there is a workaround I don't know about), I did try uninstalling and
reinstalling the terminal to no avail.

try gnome-terminal on the alt-F2 commandline ?

HMM That's another function that doesn't work. Nothing comes up when I
press Alt-F2. Looks like I've got serious problems?

Do you drag the icon to the Deleted Items folder when you get rid of it.
And dop you click Applications and right click Terminal to put it back
from the right click drop menu?
