Shortcut keys to special characters ?

Please tell me how to set shortcut keys in order to introduce special
characters into the text in Open Office Writer just like in MS Word, if
possible. I have to write in Romanian and Hungarian.

Install Character Map and you can cut and paste special characters. I am not
sure if it is installed by default, but it is on my system and it works just
like the Windows one.

There are the special characters there but how do I set shortcut keys like,
for example, Alt + A and Alt + a in MS Word, in order to insert a specific
character quickly ? For example, I need something like

Shortcut are the same as word. Best to go into help and put short-cuts
in the search and print then out.
