Issues with audio after installing WINE?

Recent discussions about WINE reminded me that even though I've
bitten the big bullet and dropped Windows completely in favor of
Ubuntu, I still have a half-dozen rarely used but important apps that
have no Linux equivalent. So I installed WINE and started playing
with a couple so I would be prepared once the need arose.

However, since installing WINE, I've lost all audio in any
configuration. I'm reasonably sure it's some sort of conflict in the
WINE setup, but cannot find it for the life of me. Has anyone else
encountered a similar situation, and what was your resolution if so?

32-bit Feisty Fox on AMD-64x2, 2gb RAM, on-board audio. Being
picked up by FF as a PCI interface CK804 AC'97 (nVidia chipset). No
problems with sound prior to WINE install.....
