Yes. I have in the past installed both Safari and IE and they work fine.
Just remember that not all Windows programmes will work in Wine. They may
install but may use a proprietary Microsoft or Apple dll or api that is not
available to you. I think that Active X does not work in Wine, but since I
no longer use Wine I can't say for sure. If so, then you would not be able
to go to websites that use Active X. Unlike a VM, they can tell if you are
installing on regular Windows or Wine and sometimes they will refuse to
install. I have had that happen when getting material from Microsoft with
Wine. Running in a VM they can't tell because you are running an actual copy
of Windows. The problem with VMs is that you need a Windows license and
their license prohibits running Windows in a VM. A Catch 22 that has never
been tested before the courts to my knowledge.
