502 bad gateway!............................

Strange. I googled ubuntuguide and the links on google came up with the same
gateway error.

That's one of the weirdest things I've seen. They were working fine
ever since I found them earlier today, but I get the 502 Bad Gateway
now, too.

Luckily I saved the two pages as PDFs because they are useful; they're
available here:

<thadlabs.com/FILES/Ubuntu_8.04_Guide.pdf>
<thadlabs.com/FILES/Ubuntu_8.10_Guide.pdf>

A Google search on "502 bad gateway" reveals it's a network error
at the server end, often caused by being overloaded; one report here:

<http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E502.html>

For what it's worth, "ubuntiguide.org" is in Kuala Lumpur which is
in Malaysia.

I just checked the internet traffic report and it appears Asia is
falling off the map. Maybe an earthquake?

I go to this site often and it wasnt like this just last week. They are
off line now but give it a few days.

On further search I see the Ubuntu upgrade is slightly different to the
description on the Kubuntu site. See:

ibix.html

I got in to the Hardy wiki without a problem. I did the upgrade to
Intrepid and am a very happy camper. I upgraded and it all went smoothly
(took a while) but everything is working ok. This is a post I posted on
the Kubuntu forum showing the url.

I have just completed a successful upgrade from Hardy where I had both
KDE3.* and 4.* installed as a "dual boot". I upgraded from the 3.5
version using the instructions on this site.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/IntrepidUpgrades/Kubuntu

It gave me exact instructions and worked perfectly!!! As I said I had
both KDE 3 & 4. Intrepid made one version of KDE - version 4.*. It does
away with version 3 completely. For me this is what I wanted.
I am now having to learn to use all the nuances and candy that KDE 4
provides. I am very pleased with the results so far but I'm sure I'll be
on the forum asking questions Smiley
I'm sure it'll work ok for Ubuntu as well. I like Intrepid so far.
