Gimp is in the ubuntu repositories as always, and fully supported as
always.

Never used UNR, but I can't imagine that installing gimp using the
software management tools would cause any problems whatsoever.

there should be no issues as long as you have the space and power
requirements.

I will install it and report back. The notebook was new 9.06 but has
the atom processor so very slow. Don't much care if it takes forever to
manipulate a Pic, just that it will do it.
