Flash install problem

Date: Jan 07    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 313

I have been using Ubuntu 7.04 for about a month and I am continuing to
have problems installing Flash Player 9.

I have downloaded the .tar.gz file form Adobe, and also the install
instructions. I get to the part where it tells me to type
./flashplayer-install and then hit Enter. The message that comes back
is :-

ERROR : Your architecture, \'x86_64\', is not supported by the
Adobe Flash Player installer.

-: and indeed it is correct that I have a 64 bit AMD processor.
