I am starting to think that the problems I am having with Feisty (the
freezing) are due, at least in part, to there not being a way for the
program/ram to dump data and try again. Kinda like a buffer overrun
protection or whatever you call it. Like when I used to program in VB/C++
one of the things everyone screamed about was when us programmers forgot to
do debugging. So maybe, the code has some loose bits in it somewhere?
Though it could have been one of the updates... but either way, does anybody
know of a way to set up a debugging mode?
On the W... box I used to have, if the thing froze I could ctrl+alt+del to
bring up task manager to kill processes until the one responsible was gone
and things went as planned again. Is there anything like that in Ubuntu? I
would really like to find a way to 'stop' the system during a freeze, so as
to find out why my CPU/RAM goes to 100%. The most recent freeze was when I
ran first 1 folder copy then 2, then when I started the 3 BAM!
ANyways, it is almost 4am so I will cut myself short here.
