I have Windows as a dual to Ubuntu Linux LXDE. It works faster
than in VirtualBox Memory and the programs I use access the internet so I would
need to keep support patches and antivirus up-to-date. So unfortunately, WIN7
would be necessary. My cousin has same type of PC I have and is running Windows
7 so I'm sure it will work out. I also a while back did an upgrade assistant on
Windows 7 and it said I needed more ram and suggested a different Video card if
I wanted to use 3D software. I guess like 3D games. Not into the games so the
graphic card isn't a problem. Windows 7 should be a good fit.
Thanks for trying to help Barry. I do appreciate the secure boot explanation -
definitely Windows 8 would not work on my current PC. I'm not ready to buy a
new PC -- may after Windows 7 support ends I get a laptop. But for now I want
to get some more life out of the current PC.
