It sounds like you are having problems with your DVD burner. If your computer
can boot from a flash drive, I suggest using unetbooin to make a bootable flash
drive.

12.10 is too big to fit on a CD.

It also sounds like you need to review the password for your router.

I've installed 12.10 on my desktop and laptop with no installation issues.
