In future it might be best to order a bare bone machine (Enclosure/Power
Supply Unit /tested mobo with processor and RAM).
And add an HD + graphics card+ DVD writer yourself ,hence no OS.
The BIOS of such a mobo should NOT have the UEFI stumbling block.

In the UK you now can buy a laptop without an OS.
