startup sound change

How do I change the startup sound in Ubuntu 10.4? I have tried turning it off
in preferences - loginscreen and unchecking the sound but it's still there and
now that I can't get rid of it, I hate the noise and wound like to set it up
with a sound like an engine starting or the Starship Enterprise sounds.

I didn't even know what sounds were used at startup! First thing I do
is turn off alerts sound in system>sound. this is the first window that
shows on my system. I am running the 10.04 remix for my netbook and use
the thing in the Library so don't want all those useless sounds.
