SERIAL PORT COMMUNICATION

I have 2 pcs connected to one another, connected through a cable to
one another's COM ports

Can any1 tell me how, or show me a sample application code that
could help me transfer data over this com port?

I wana transfer files and so on as i do on sockets over tcp... any
tips?

first you need the commAPI from java.sun.com

Use their examples to build your own app to send and receive data  via
comm ports.
