Chinese install Pynon keyboard input?

y Chinese friend just gave me a computer that she said died. But when I
pluged it in and fooled around with windows I got it working. I cannot install
chinese windows and set up for her. I am not that good. I know ubuntu can run in
default language in simplified Chinese. That would be good. I can set it up in
English then switch default to simplified Chinese. That is all good. But.... I
need to know how to set they keyboard input default to pynin. Can anyone please
help me? My friend would be so happy! And I can always help her out from the log
on screen, just switch to English and then back to Simplified Chinese. Any help
is welcome.
