This is for all of you (including those who hate vs.net ;-)), I booted my
machine today (nothing new no new service packs etc) opened VS.Net clicked
on the project name and BANG:

I get Http error : 503: Service Unavailable

I have checked IIS admin , WWW etc and everything has started , I also
looked in the event log and nothing looks unusual.

Any ideas PLEASE?

System config:

Windows 2000 Adv server Sp3

VS.NET

.Net framework Ver1 SP2

stop started  all the services etc, I did some further investigation
with a packet sniffer I had build and I found my packets where being
forwarded to the firewall for internal sites and the firewall would try and
resolve the internal address on external DNS server therefore kicking out
errors.

So it was quite simple, the environment had changed I was sitting at home
dialed in on a new dial up connection, I checked the browser settings for
that connection and found "bypass proxy server for internal addresses"
unchecked. Once I checked that option it worked.
