Video Driver in use

Date: Dec 05    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 288

How do you find out what drivers Ubuntu is using? I have version 9.04 on my hard
drive and it is now corrupt, as I used envyNG to install a driver to make better
use of my newer monitor and now I can't see anything on my display after
rebooting but some squeezed lines that I can't read.

When I use the install disk and boot from it, the display is beautiful (exactly
what I want). How do I find out which video driver the install disk has selected
and replace the one on my hard drive so I can run from the already installed
Ubuntu version?
