Update successful on Netbook

After hearing about updating problems I hesitated before allowing the
update manager doing the job, but allas I mouse clicked the update
option and crossed my fingers.

I did the update to 10.04 from 9.10 on my acer one with no problems.

Since the release date is 2 days away I will wait, but will upgrade. I am
using an Acer Aspire One.

What you get in two days will be the same as what you get today. The
packages have been finalised. If you wait then you will face slow servers.

If we download today, is it the release candidate? If not, what would I D/L and
from where?

It will be the release candidate. If you are upgrading just use the update
manager. Launch it with update-manager -d from Alt+F2. If you are doing a
fresh installation then download the RC and then do the updates to upgrade
packages to be equivalent to the final release. My experience has been that
there are several last minute patches on the Tuesday before the final
release, but the final packages are set. There will be no changes as things
are frozen. RC + patches = final release.

I've been running Lucid since January. It has come a long way and is going
to be worth installing for many reasons.
